Both of these conversions serve to transform PDF files into more usable formats. The conversion to image format is suitable for previewing, printing, inserting into PowerPoint presentations, or sharing in groups. The conversion to Word format is useful for continuing to edit the text content. Below, we will explain the common usage scenarios and some important points to note.
PDF files are essentially fixed-layout "electronic papers". When copied to other locations, the layout often gets lost. Converting them to PNG format ensures that each page remains a clear image. With a resolution of 150dpi, both screen display and printing requirements are satisfied. Multiple pages can be automatically compressed into ZIP files, making them suitable for archiving, presenting screenshots, or displaying original documents in a way that preserves their integrity when editing is not possible.
When it’s necessary to modify text, add additional content, or continue formatting using Word/WPS, converting the file to .docx is the most convenient approach. This way, text formatting, font styles, and paragraph structures will be preserved as much as possible. However, complex layouts involving multiple columns, text boxes, vector graphics, headers, and footers may differ slightly from the original manuscript. It’s recommended to perform a quick review after conversion to ensure everything is correct.
PDF files are essentially images. When converted to Word format, they still remain images and cannot be edited directly. In such cases, OCR text recognition is required. PDF files with a password require special handling; please use our PDF decryption function to remove the password before converting them. All files are processed on our local server, and after processing, you have full control over whether to delete them or not.
In short: If you want to display the content accurately, just upload the images. If you need further editing, then upload the documents in Word format. For scanned documents, first perform OCR conversion, and for encrypted documents, decrypt them first. This way, the conversion process will proceed smoothly.
